"Poetry connects people. My favorite poem", a poetic happening took place on Sunday, May 21, 2006, 6 pm at the Polish Home in Seattle.

Music: Constantine Sokolov, a Russian bard who writes his own lyrics and music is going to perform his songs, joined in one of them by Marzanna Bachowska, a well known and liked local Polish singer.

The organizers goals were to popularize poetry, and to use its ability to strengthen dialog between people of different nations. They wanted to infect our guests and listeners with love of poetry, help them to discover their, often deeply hidden, poetic sensitivity and find their own, most important poem.

Our guests read their favorite poems, including poems by Valeria Viniarskaya, Tadeusz Różewicz, Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński, Raymond Carver, Leszek Chudziński, Maria Jasnorzewska-Pawlikowska and others.
